Turning off the device is something that we all might need to know how to do. Because it is such a core component of the phone, you\u2019d think that it would be easy to find. However, unless you\u2019re looking for the command, you\u2019re not going to find it. So we\u2019ll be taking a look at what you need to do.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Turning Off When You Need To<\/b><\/h2>\n

We all need to find the time to switch the phone off from time to time. In fact, some places insist that the device is off completely because it can interfere with things like medical equipment and scanners. So you can begin to understand that there is a need for you to turn the device off.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Switching it Off<\/b><\/h2>\n

So how do you actually turn the phone off? Well, for a very long time now, the iPhone series hasn\u2019t had a power off button. Instead, you\u2019re going to want to take a look at your lock button.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Normally, a quick press of the lock button will lock the phone. However, if you press and hold the button, you\u2019ll be greeted with a different menu. This will be a menu which prompts you to slide your finger across the screen and that switches off the phone. It is literally that simple, which is helpful because turning the phone off is such a core component of owning it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Turning it Back On\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

For the sake of convenience, we should probably also cover how you turn the phone back on when you are done with having it off. Thankfully, this is not difficult either. What you have to consider is that when it comes to switching on the phone, Apple were clever and built it into the same place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So what this means is that when you want to turn the phone back on, you just press and hold the lock button again. You have to do it until you see the Apple<\/a> logo flash up on the screen, and then you can just let go and wait until the phone turns itself back on.<\/span><\/p>\n

So in conclusion, it\u2019s pretty important for people to know our turn off their mobile device. It\u2019s not always the easiest to figure out, but once you become familiar with the Apple series of models, you won\u2019t have a problem. The iPhone is a very useful tool but at the same time, it does need to be turned off occasionally for the safety of other people or to pass through something like airport security. What we recommend is learning how to turn it off, and familiarising yourself with the time required to hold down the button.
