To say the camera equipment on the Huawei P30<\/a> is stunning is almost underselling it, it features some seriously heavyweight technology and some rather powerful software to support it making this a challenge to high street cameras everywhere, leaving many of them shuffling of the shelf and crashing to the floor in defeat. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Hardware<\/h2>\n

So just what has been included that makes this camera something so special? Well, it is well known that Huawei has a long-standing relationship with lens giants Leica and this handset is no exception. On the rear of the handset, there is a really strong triple camera array that knocks serious spots off other offerings. <\/span><\/p>\n

The three lenses that work together are Leica finest and feature, as the main event, a 40 MP, f\/1.8, 27mm (wide), 1\/1.7″, PDAF\/Laser AF. If this were a single camera, we would be impressed with 40MP, but there is so much more it really is photography nerdvana. <\/span><\/p>\n

Secondly there is a 16 MP, f\/2.2, 17mm (ultrawide), PDAF\/Laser AF, and finally, completing the set up an 8 MP, f\/2.4, 80mm (telephoto), 1\/4″, 3x optical zoom, PDAF\/Laser AF, OIS. These have dual-LED dual-tone flash, a panorama option and HDR. <\/span><\/p>\n

There is some serious weight in these lenses. If you are looking to film video well, there are some even more impressive stats as you can record in 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, 1080p@30fps (gyro-EIS) and 720p@960fps which really is enough to shot some serious movies that would give professionals a run for their money. <\/span><\/p>\n

Side by side against other phone camera offerings you will really notice the majesty of these lenses, with crisp, sharp images and true to life colours. Of course, the software is there to help you create the perfect shot, and it is well worth exploring the camera settings in depth and testing out all the different modes on offer if you are hoping to get some serious snapping in. <\/span><\/p>\n

The software is another Huawei success, and the camera will assist you with helpful on-screen prompts if needed to ensure that the perfect image is captured, and of course, they can be manipulated afterwards to create that masterpiece that will make your friends green with envy. <\/span><\/p>\n

On the Front<\/h2>\n

It is also well worth mentioning the front-facing selfie camera, which again packs a serious punch. This is not a Leica lens, as the front-facing offering often isn\u2019t but it carries impressive figures and is well worth the addition. You have a 32 MP, f\/2.0, (wide) HDR with the ability to record video in 1080p@30fps.
