Rules to follow

Whilst the Xr is resistant to certain levels of liquid, you do need to follow some strict guidelines. As it has an IP67 rating, the phone is completely resistant to small particles. When it comes to water, the phone is only resistant in up to 1 metres for 30 minutes. It’s extremely important that you do not take the phone in liquid for any longer than 30 minutes. After this point, the seals can begin to disintegrate, which can cause big issues. This will eventually completely ruin the inside of the phone. To avoid this, simply ensure that you do not cross that 30 minute mark.

You should also make sure that you do not take the phone any lower than 1 metre in any kind of liquid. As you go further down in water, the pressure will increase. Whilst you may not feel this on your body, it can massively damage your phone. Taking the Xr lower than 1 metre can crush the insides of it. You are not covered by warranty for this issue so we highly suggest that you do not cross this guideline.

 

Is the iPhone Xr waterproof?

The short answer is no. The actual answer is a bit longer than that. The iPhone Xr isn’t waterproof however, it is water resistant. You can use the Xr in water as long as you follow the restrictions.
