Huawei P20 Pro Tips

The Huawei P20 Pro has only just lost its flagship status following the release of the newer Mate 20 series and remains one of the most powerful smartphones on the market. If you have a P20 Pro or are looking to get your hands on one, here are a few cool things you can do with your new phone.

Knuckle Down

Using your knuckle might seem a little strange, but this is a much loved if little known Huawei trick. Using your knuckle, you can take some really specific screenshots that otherwise might take you quite a lot of faffing around with menus. If you start to draw on the screen, around the area you want to capture, you will see a guideline start to appear. Once you have captured the area, you have the change to manipulate it further before saving, sending or doing whatever you like with your screen grab.

One Hand Happy

So, handsets went through a revolution and got smaller and smaller which was great for one-handed operation. Now, the trend has reversed, and the handset size is on the up again, which is not so good for those of us that prefer to use one hand. The Huawei P20 Pro is not one of the biggest by far but measures a solid 5.1 inches.

If you want to have a play with the one hand settings and see if they suit you better, hop over to Settings, Smart Assistance, One-Handed UI, Mini Screen View and toggle this to on. Now, if you swipe diagonally up from either bottom corner your view with change and move your content to the corner which is easier to reach with one hand.

Ditch Your Wearable

If you get fed up with wearables but still want to know what is going on when it comes to exercise and step count then consider using your Huawei P20 as a serious replacement. A lot of phones will track steps, but not all are as accurate as the tech inside the Huawei. Going one better than just counting your steps, you can also set the step count to be displayed on your lock screen so you can see at a glance how you are doing for the day. The count works well in a pocket, so you just need to remember to keep it on your person. To switch on the lock screen feature navigate to Settings, Screen Lock and Passwords, Show Step Count on Lock Screen and toggle to on.
