Huawei and Google Services

Last year’s news between Huawei and Google Services brought up a whole load of questions this year’s P40 range and it’s release. Many of these questioned operating systems, available apps and the future of Huawei in general. Now that Huawei have finally released their next range, we can have all our questions answered. The secret is out and you can be assured these smartphones aren’t losing any excitement.

Will the P40 have Google apps?

In short, no, the P40 range will not have any Google apps or services. This means you won’t be able to access the Google Play store, YouTube or Gmail, as well as a lot more services. In 2019, Huawei was added to Google’s Entity list, prohibiting any US companies from working with the tech giant. For this reason, you won’t find any Google services, or US services for that matter, on any new Huawei phones. Any existing Huawei devices will still continue to receive security updates and software updates as long as they are permitted.

Does the Huawei P40 range run on Android?

Yes, the P40 range does run on Android however, it runs on EMUI too. This is a skin found on Huawei and Honor devices that essentially changes the feel of Android to replicate iOS a bit more.

What is EMUI?

EMUI has so many different features that make your Huawei feel different to every other Android device. It brings a whole range of different AI features to your device, including MeeTime. Through this feature, you’ll be able to video call your friends and family in any light situation and even share your screen. You’re able to use every feature of the Huawei camera through MeeTime. For times when you may be working at home, you can also make a conference call. If you want to capture more than one person in your video call, you’ll have use of the fisheye lens too.

Thanks to EMUI, you can also make your Huawei P40 device your mobile office. You can get easy access to any of your files with no issue at all whilst using multi-screen collaboration. You can also use your PC with the Huawei technology and video call completely hands free.

Along with all this great video and camera technology, you’ll be able to test out the Huawei Share feature. You can wirelessly share any files, photos or videos with other Huawei smartphones. All you need to do is tap the device you want to share with and it’s as simple as that!

The future of Huawei and Google services doesn’t look particularly good however, there may always be a turn around from that. If you’re in search of the best Huawei P40 deals on the market, make sure to take a look at our offers.
