How does redemption cashback work?

When you’re trying to find the perfect deal on Metrofone, you’ll see a lot of cashback but, how does redemption cashback work? We’ve got that covered. There are a few different types of cashback on our website, being automatic and redemption. How the redemption cashback works depends on the length of the contract you’re choosing.

 

What is redemption cashback?

Redemption cashback is an extra that we add to a lot of our deals. Redemption is by far the most valuable cashback method of the two however, it does come with a little bit of work. By adding cashback to our orders, we can reduce the overall contract cost considerably. If you’re saving huge amounts of money in the long run, you can relax in knowing you’ve got a fantastic deal. As the name would suggest, redemption cashback is redeemable. You have to claim for it over a specific time period if you want to get the entire amount.

 

How to claim

To claim the cashback, you will need to submit a specific network bill along with a cashback claim form through your online Metrofone account. The first email you receive from us will contain a validation link, which you need to click. You are then asked to set a password for your account. If you’re having issues with this, please email us at [email protected]. In the bottom left corner of your account, you can find a ‘Claim Cashback’ button. Click this and you’ll be able to submit your claim. You do need to download a PDF bill from your network account in order to do this.

 

12 Month Redemption Cashback

You’re most likely to get a 12 month redemption cashback plan if you’re on a SIM only plan. We don’t currently provide 12 month handset plans as they’re far too expensive for our customer base. If you have got a 12 month plan, claiming your cashback is super easy.

Claim dates are fairly straight forward. We don’t give you the dates upon ordering so we do recommend setting reminders in your phone or calendar. You need to submit a claim 5 times throughout your contract. Each submission will claim for one fifth of the overall cashback amount. On a 12 month plan, you will need to submit your claims in billing month 3, 5, 7, 9 and 12. These claims need to be submitted within 60 days of receiving your network bill.

Our finance team will process your cashback claim within 14 working days and look to pay the instalment within 21 working days. It’s paid directly to your bank account that was given on the order. Please contact us on 0333 900 1144 to update these details.

 

18 & 24 Month Redemption Cashback

Just like 12 month contracts, it’s not likely that you’ll get an 18 month phone contract. Again, they’re just too expensive, and we like to pride ourselves on our affordable deals. There are a few different ways that 18 month cashback works but it’s fairly similar. The claiming process if the exact same, so claim through your online account.

Claim dates for 18 and 24 month cashback follow the same pattern. You will need to claim 5 times throughout your entire contract with equal instalments being paid each time. Please note that you will not get a larger instalment amount for the first claim. All claims are paid equally. To claim 18 and 24 month redemption cashback, you need to submit your claims in billing months 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18. All claims need to be submitted

Claims will be processed within 14 working days by our finance team. If there are no issues, the instalment will be paid within 21 working days. You will receive an email if there are nay problems that stop us from paying your cashback claim. All instalments will be paid via BACS into the bank details that were given on the order. Reasons it can be rejected

One of the easiest ways to avoid any issues is to update us with any information changes, even if they seem irrelevant. So, what are the reasons for rejection?

The first reason you may be rejected is that you aren’t submitting your claim within the 60 day period. If this is the case, then you have unfortunately missed out on the cashback claim. We are not able to pay cashback when this issue arises. To avoid this, simply claim the cashback as soon as your bill has been issued. This also allows you to solve any potential further issues.

Another reason is that you have been disconnected from the network. Unfortunately, you will have to contact the network directly for information as to why this has occurred. We are not able to tell you as we don’t have this information. If this has happened, then your order, and cashback, will be cancelled.

If you have changed any network details, be that your tariff, name on the bill, or anything else, the cashback will not be paid. You will need to contact us on 0333 900 1144 or email us at [email protected] to update the details on your account. Once this is done, you will need to resubmit. You’ll also need to make sure that you’re not submitting the wrong order number or any other detail on the claim form as this can cause a submission rejection.

One last reason that you can be rejected is that you’ve submitted the wrong bill for the cashback. This can be the wrong network or the wrong billing date. It’s important to check what you’re submitting twice, just to make sure. You should always count the bills in your network account. This way, you know you’re submitting the correct documents.

 

Automatic Cashback

Automatic cashback is the easiest, and simplest, form of cashback we offer. It can help reduce your total contract amount slightly however, not as much as redemption cashback does. There’s absolutely nothing that you need to do in order to get hold of automatic cashback. After 90 days of your contract being live, we will make sure that you’re staying on top of your network bills and process the payment of cashback. It’s paid in one lump sum directly into the bank account that you have given us on your order. You must make us aware if these details have changed before the 90 day period or there may be issues with your cashback payment.
