About the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G

Folding phones have become more and more popular in the last few months, a lot of the technology coming from Samsung and 2020 brings the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Something Samsung have managed to do seamlessly is create a folding screen that doesn’t seem to crease. This is probably why they’re so popular in the folding phone department at the moment,

Release Date and Prices

At the start of February 2020, the Z Flip hit the market and became one of the most prestigious folding phones on the market. This was such a popular device because it wasn’t too expensive, had amazing specifications and was easy on the eye too. To bring the device up to date, it of course needed to support 5G, hence why this new addition is due to arrive. Just when it will arrive is something that hasn’t been 100% confirmed yet. With the Samsung Unpacked event airing on August 5th, it’s highly likely that they’ll announce the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G here.

As well as the Z Flip 5G, we can also expect to see the brand new Note 20 series and find out exactly when that will be hitting the shelves. It is also expected that the Fold 2 will be announced. This means that Samsung will be announcing 4 or 5 different devices, including the different Note 20 models. Some reports have suggested that we may have to wait quite some time before we get to see the two foldable phones. In terms of prices, we’re just as much left in the blue as you’d think.

A confirmed price isn’t likely to come out until Samsung have announced the phone. We can get a rough estimate of just how much the phone will cost, just by taking a look at the original variant. With the original Z Flip costing around £1300, the new variant is expected to be priced slightly higher. As this phone is compatible with 5G, it’s expected to cost around £100 more than the last one, which would still keep it at a relatively low price. Compared to other 5G handsets on the market, it’s sitting in the lower price bracket, with all the same great qualities.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G Rumours

When it comes to the actual hardware and features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G, there aren’t many changes from the original. Of course, a huge difference is the chip itself. Behind the brains of the new variant is the Snapdragon865 chipset. This is bringing the fastest speeds to your uploads, downloads and even streaming. You won’t need to worry about being slowed down at any points. Of course, you will need a 5G ready plan to match however, there are plenty of them on the scene. With 5G capabilities and a 5G plan, this phone is going to keep you going.

There is also talk of a larger battery being built into the phone to keep up with those 5G capabilities. Previously, there was a 3300mAh battery in the Z Flip, offering around 9 hours use. If Samsung really wants to be top of the game, you may see them build a larger battery in. This will allow you to really enjoy the entire phone to it’s full potential. Whilst it hasn’t been completely confirmed, it would be more than likely.

Much like the Z Flip, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is expected to arrive in only 256GB. Whilst it doesn’t offer the largest options, it does allow for plenty of memory space. This should be more than enough for you to keep going throughout the years as it’s more than the standard smartphone. Most regular smartphones are offered at around 64GB or 128GB. Having such a large amount of memory will allow you to really make use of those 5G speeds especially. Whether you enjoy games or films, you’ll be able to save them down.
